SHE HAS TWO EYES TO LOOK & ONE EYE TO SEE...
Yes.
If you look closely at the photo you’ll see that I have a third arm…
Even if this isn’t real (!), this picture is a powerful statement to the fact that I do multitask. Social Media, fashion journalism, writing, visual arts… The list could go on & on (don’t get me started on Brazilian music or Astrology…).
But don’t get me wrong. All this comes from one place, a place of evergreen enchantement. I love to help people BLOOM.
Be it with words or visuals, my main mission is to give voice and build communities. So thank you for being here, and let’s start GROWING!
PAULA BRACONNOT
My universe is quite eclectic: I’m drawn to old engravings, botanical art, alchemy and surrealism.
My most recent work has actually been a book that I co-wrote with my husband about “fabulous” women. We wanted to tell the story of ten 20th century women that forged their own destiny and we used a “tale” structure. It’s published in France by the publishing house Larousse.
Thank you ! I’m constantly evolving and right now I’m diving into Hindu art and finding a lot of inspiration.
I think that we are all alchemists, we all possess the ability to transfigure reality. For it you need a big dose of imagination and the spark of courage.
Visita Interiora Terrae Rectificando Invenies Occultum Lapidem Veram Medicinam (Visit the interior of the earth and rectifying you will find the hidden stone, which is true medicine). It is the path that one must follow in order to find what truly matters. It’s a path of self-discovery.
I imagine it as the eye of the heart. This is where our intuition comes from.
I haven’t done a traditional pilgrimage per se. But I do think that this life is a pilgrimage, and I try – every day – to learn life’s lessons and better myself as a human being.
I have an obsession with the EYE. It can be a mirror but also a window into one’s soul.
For me Spirituality is what enables us to transcend the ordinary reality. There are many people that managed to show us what lies “above”. Thich Nhat Hanh, a Vietnamese Buddhist monk is one of my biggest inspirations. I’m so happy that he’s still amongst us ! He’s a great teacher.
“I’m home in the Here & the Now.” I want to transcend duality and see things as they really are.
That’s a tricky question… I believe in both actually. I think we have a mission to accomplish in this life – and this is in a way our destiny. But seldom are those that go looking for their true mission. So, you need to be brave enough to find your true path – and this is where free will comes in.
We went to visit the Raimondo di Sangro chapel and I saw the two XVII century anatomical studies: a man & a pregnant woman. At the time, anatomical studies were not as detailed as the ones created by the Alchemist inventor. Some said he had actually killed two people in order to make the sculptures. Now we know that he had actually used some sort of plastic – which is by itself an amazing achievement! Anyway – for the little anecdote – we came out of the Di Sangro Chapel and went to a bar. I was still obsessed by the anatomical studies when suddenly my eyes set on a very kitsch clock : a leprecon with a gigantic clock inserted on his belly. This was the beginning of the Timenauts….
Not only do I believe in Astrology – I want to become an Astrologist ! It’s one of the most beautiful and mysterious things to be able to read a person by looking at the night sky. I’m very curious to know what you can convey to me of Vedic Astrology!
No. Tell me more ! I can totally believe in it… Seems fascinating !
I always think of complementarity actually. The feminine & the masculine must be equilibrated inside oneself as well as in society. I think we are witnessing the “re-equilibration” of the feminine in our society – and it’s about time!
I don’t know if it’s my favourite, but Kali is really fascinating to me. Reading about tantrism, I understood that she embodies time in its destructiveness. Given that transformation is the very essence of our plane of existence, she’s central in order to understand how our reality works.
For me art “heals” because it enables me to express what otherwise I can’t convey. It’s a necessity and a “language” that I use in order to manifest ideas and visions.
I’ve never experienced Ayurveda but I would love to! I know it really takes into account all the dimensions of a person and its healing powers are very strong.
I was very lucky to have a wonderful Yoga teacher here in France called Mika. He is full of compassion and he really helps his students to connect with themselves in a very simple and direct way. Concerning Meditation, I’ve started a couple of years back and I use a wonderful app called Head Space. I’m trying to do it a daily basis and its really transformative.
My husband is the one that cooks in the family and thanks to him we always eat seasonal, organic and local food. He’s very vigilant and a wonderful cook!
I think that my life is spicy – I love to live intensely and bring flavour to the small moments!
