Dakla series by Bandish Projekt is annual ode to the Goddess every Navratri since 2016
BANDISH PROJEKT resonates the musicality of Mayur Narvekar, a composer, producer, Dj, remixer, performer and a multi-instrumentalist. “Bandish” in its Indian classical connotation means “composition”, while “Projekt” reflects its innate extermination. Like a creeper and a tree, the music is the symbiotic conjoining of the sounds folk music fused with electronic or classical Indian ragas entwined into different sound. Every Navratri, since 2016, the Bandish Projekt is releasing the track from the Dakla series as an annual ode to the Goddess. Enjoy!

Bandish Projekt is the pseudonym of composer, producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist Mayur Narvekar. Bandish Projekt is a musical act featuring a blend of Indian elements in an electronica format. The title "Bandish Projekt" is derived from Bandish (an Indian classical composition) and "Projekt," which reflects the experimental and evolving nature of the music. Bandish Projekt was formed in 1998 by Mayur Narvekar, Udyan Sagar, and Mehir Nath Chopra.=Mayur Narvekar regularly collaborates with producers and musicians on his albums, Sagar performs as Nucleya, and Chopra is a media entrepreneur, based in Dubai.
Dakla 7 is our salutation to the inward journey. To direction, purpose, freedom and awareness. To dance, movement, power, energy and the freedom to become. The ultimate union of all the powers. The divine within all of us.
Dakla 6 is about the real Goddesses around us and the roles they play. The creator, the survivor, the saviour, the hands that feeds, the feet that carry the burden, the love and harmony they bring in our lives and take the form of the destroyer when needed. Respect the Goddess in every woman.
Dakla 5 comes, when it’s time to destroy the evil... The celebration of Navaratri culminates on Dussehra, also known as Vijayadashami - the tenth day, the day of victory after the nine nights of Navaratri. Dussehra marks the triumph of the Goddess over the demon Mahishasura and symbolizes the prevailing of the supreme light.

Narvekar was raised in Ahmedabad by a family of classical musicians and arts enthusiasts. His father and paternal uncle introduced him to the dholak at an early age. Through his interest and talent for percussion, he was encouraged to formally learn the tabla. Narvekar studied classical tabla with his teacher Pandit Divyang Vakil for 20 years. He went on to win the All India Radio (AIR) competition for percussion in 2000, and was honoured with the prestigious "Pt. Nikhil Ghosh Memorial Promising Artist Award" in 2001.
Dakla 4 is reminding the time, when the Goddesses get wilder, darker and angrier. Dussehra is considered one of the three-and-a-half most auspicious days of the year. This is, therefore, one of the most favorable days to embark on a project, especially one that involves knowledge, art, or music. It is a day of new beginnings, of fresh starts, when the heavens seem to shower their golden-hued blessings in particular abundance, supporting the success of our new endeavors.
During Navaratri, the Devi is worshiped in three of her forms: Durga, Lakshmi, and Sarasvati. Each of these forms supports a seeker to experience and nourish the light that is their true nature. And over the nine nights and ten days of this celebration, the Goddess is honored in her various manifestations by singing devotional songs.

Inspired by the music and producers of the West, Narvekar began to add to his repertory of classical sounds. Thus, his electronic act, Bandish Projekt, was conceived. After graduating from St. Xaviers College, Ahmedabad, in 2000 with a BA in psychology, Narvekar decided to pursue a full-time career in music.
After several years as a live performer, composer and producer, Narvekar moved to Mumbai in 2008. Bandish Projekt’s first album, Correkt, was released in October 2009, followed by the single "Brown Skin Beauty" featuring Last Mango in Paris in 2010, and the EP "Chase" in March 2011. In December 2011, Bandish Projekt released another EP, "Lover," featuring Shaa’ir (Monica Dogra of Shaa'ir and Func), which was nominated for the 2012 MTV EMA award for Best Indian Act.
Dakla 2 set the tradition for Navaratri dose of Gujarati inspired music videos. Navaratri, which means “nine nights,” is a festival that has been observed for centuries throughout India. Navaratri honors the Devi, the great Goddess and divine Mother, the all-pervading Shakti forms.
After realising Gondhal Bandish Projekt decided, that we need a heavier dose of music! For the world's longest traditional dance festival was created something to trip on and take us into trance. The "Dakla" was created! The purest form of Gujarati folk music in electro-trance version.

Bandish Projekt's Alchemy Wins Asifa India Awards For Excellence the special Jury mention in the best animation film category.2014 Bandish Projekt receives GIMA Award (Global Indian Music Award) for the best EDM track "TRAP" from the Ep "I am Not Alone".
